This sculpture represents birth, for plants and other living beings alike.

The long conical shape signifies the life and genes that are passed through generations of ancestors, culminating in a new existence represented by a seedling.

It's made out of a single log of oak, and the seedling is made of clay, which I foraged in the woods. I tried rubbing some plum tree sap on the seedling before firing it again to give it a natural glaze
